A win is a win. Call it what you will. Maybe by ass whooping I was referring to the 113, 120, 126, 132, 160, 170 matches. Those were defined definitions of the term lol 113 120 126 132 138 isn't a strength of Grundys lineup because they're young and inexperienced with the exception of Carson Griffey who was hurt and not competing. Some would say had he been able to go the outcome of the dual may have turned out differently. Grundy had some dominate matches as well. So to say they got their ass whipped is ridiculous! It sounds a lot like hating towards Grundy and/or small western Va schools in general. Something the area is used to. Heck, after awhile I would probably get tired of hearing about their state records too.

Why are we talking about a 1A school in the VIs forum anyway? Are these guys jelly their peeps in VHSL aren’t giving them any love in their own forum? Do they need some love? Are they having daddy issues in their own forum ? Lol. Weird. That is the problem, no one is talking about 1A so they feel the need to seek out attention. Closed mouths don't eat

Grundy and Rural Retreat would go 1 and 2 in VIS. And I guess they would have a bunch of All Americans at the National Preps. That may or not be the case this year, but in most years a St. Chris or Benedictine team would beat them. National Preps is on the level of most powerhouse regional or national tournaments. Definitely head shoulders above any VA class state tournament and obviously much better than anything in 1A. Most of the wrestlers from Grundy and RR would not AA, in fact most would be three and done.

They can compete with any team in the state and beat the majority of them. Grundy has 343 kids in their highscool. Maybe half are boys and maybe a qtr of those want to wrestle and even less stick with it. Now you compare that to 3,4,5,6A and private schools with Great Bridge having 1400-1500 students or Hayfield having 3100 its remarkable that they can field competitive teams and take down those bigger schools who have more resources to pull from.

Great. Sounds like you are a lot like many private schools. I am just saying, most of the RR kids and Grundy kids are not AA-ing at National Preps. I am all for getting due credit and attention, there are a lot of regional tournaments that Grundy and RR can travel to and get credit. Beast, Powerade, Super 32, Ironman, and the list goes on. For all the success Christiansburg has had, I never see them coming on and trying to convince everyone how good they are. They let their wrestling speak for itself.

I'm sure that plays a big factor for many schools

Sorry bro Well what I do know is this Grundy team can beat your schools team and any vissa team in a parking lot behind a Wendy's if need be. Don't need an expensive tournament to do that. Just a few willing victims. Sorry bro but nobody cares about Vissa except those who went or have kids there. I've seen enough of those schools wrestle to know that most arent getting the same training/coaching that some small 1A schools are getting and that is a shame!

Who is this clown?
If you think Grundy competes so well in VA you should hop in at the ocean lakes invite later this month. Easily the hardest tournament Virginia has to offer, with multiple state champs and national prep AA’s at each weight.
If you’re just here to spew your bs and “what if” scenarios then go fire that crap up in the 1A forum since there’s nothing else happening over there.
Another option is take Grundy to the BCP power 5 duals.

VaWrestler2010, You hit it right on the nail. Nothing going on in the 1A forum cuz no one tells much about 1A either. He says no one cares about VIs wrestlers and I can say the same goes for 1A and 2A. Regardless, I got one for you.
Tell me a #1 or #2 ranked wrestler in the VIS that has lost to a 1A wrestler? Anyone know of any? That could spark a good conversation.

Ps what happened to Grundy at the va duals, looks like not only that great bridge beat them, but ran them out of town? Did they forfeit out after the defeat?
