VIS, Welcome back!!! After the long layoff we are finally back and even seen some VIS action last night where covenant hosted Grace Christian. While GCS pulled out the W in early season Action 42-13 Without further delay here is the 1st set of season rankings 106-145.
106 is a tricky one to start with. After the 2020-21 season lay off, we see many new names and unknowns here. This weight is wide open and expectations of much movement is expected. #1 Luke Wells gets the nod at the top spot due to his experience at the VAWa level. #1 Wells was the ’21- 3rd place finisher in VAWA states. Though undersized at 106, #2 Aiden Sheesley brings solid technique to challenge #1 Wells. Aiden was also a 3rd place, ’21 finisher at VAWA states.

Data lacks from the layoff here as well. #1 Parker is the veteran of the weight, and seems to get better each year. #1 Parker looked Phenomenal in the off season finishing runner up at the VAWA freestyle and Greco Championships, but he will be challenged by freshman stud #2 Lane Foard. Though it might be a challenge for us to see #2 Foard at 113, Rumor has it he will compete there. #2 Foard looked great at super 32 (120lb class). #3 Knolwes and #4 smith met in the season opening dual meet, Knowles winning by 6-0 Dec.

The 3rd Place ’21 National prep finisher will look to bring in a state title for the cadets. #2 Ryan Barone, #3 Altamura and #4 Whenner are solid while #5 Billings is just one step behind losing to #3 Altamura last time they met in SV1 and to #4 Whenner in the 7th place VISAA state match 9-3. 6-8 are going to be challenged to remain in the top 8.

This is the most interesting weight and arguably the deepest. #1 Keegan McMahon holds the title, but he has his hands full. #2 Luke Murray comes into PC as their top freshman and gets the #2 spot after his stellar performance in VAWA FS/GR states and Fargo this summer. #3 Stroh comes to FUMA and has already started to create mayhem knocking off VHSL hammer, Elijah Smoot in the valley dominator just over a month ago. #4 Cozzolino is back, healthy and ready to go where left off just two years ago dominating the 106lb class. #5 Trey Custodio will be one of the top performers for NA this year as he signed with Washingotn and Lee. 6-8 can challenge the field for a top spot.
