Can someone explain back in the day if you bumped up two classes you lost your certification at your weight and then was required to make scratch rest of the way has that changed recently As far as I know you are allowed to bump up one weight class from your weigh in weight. Don’t remember a rule saying if you bump up two weight classes you lose certification. Several wrestlers have done that over the years while they’re getting down to a weight class and staying on their chart. If the wrestler chooses to give up that much weight then that’s on them and their coach. As long as they made the weight they were supposed to on their chart then they should be good.

Brice Jones at 126 for Dan River has had a pretty good season and deserves some recognition. He was a state qualifier last year at 120 and is currently 30-2 on the season. Last weekend he dropped a tight match 7-5 against a returning state champ from NC. We’ll be at the Highlander this weekend!

I think Miller from Strasburg was back last week.
I looked into it. 132 from Skyline had Yowell beat by TF when he pinned him.

Lets be honest 2A heavyweights are not the toughest weight class. You got one kid that will prob win it all, the ones you mentioned are a crap shoot to get out of their regions. Coe, King and whoever lands on the other

Looks like Evan pack is back for Madison County. Placed 6th ar 106 two years ago, wrestling at 120. Shaping up to be a tough weight class at states this year.

Rumor is Ryan Hooper, KW, weighed in the other day at 157 but did not wrestle. Sounds like he will be back soon.

I got to see Blake Jacobson wrestle Taven Williams yesterday. Jacobson is awesome on his feet and Williams is great on the mat. I now know Jacobson is the favorite at 157. I see those 2 in state finals. I also saw Cash at 113 and he is a heavy favorite. His offense is amazing. At 120, Forbes won handily against a 3A wrestler that was 27 and 2. Forbes won 5 tournaments and is undefeated at 26 and 0. I saw that Dean lost a couple matches yesterday including 1 by 11 to 0. Should he still be #1 at 120? His personal schedule on Track only shows he competed in 2 tournaments this season. At 126, Brice Jones won the Glenvar tournament yesterday. He needs to be up there in rankings. Looks like Frank Kinzer is at 126 now as well and Kolton Vincent is at 120. Vincent got 4th at Big Red. They need to be swapped in rankings. Heading into post season some weights look very clear, but some not so much.

Dean second loss was an injury all I know He also only wrestled in two or three tournaments due to being sick earlier in the year and his loss although being a rough loss came to a kid from 4a or 5a not sure of the injury occurred during that match or if it happened in the consi finals
At the end of the day rankings are just a number by your name I’ve seen many kids not ranked top 6 when va had a,aa,aaa who worked there way to state finals
