157 will def be a tough weight this year. Between Dupree, Taven Williams, Jacobson, and Marlow coming down from 165. Be an exciting weight class to follow. Seen that Canaan Spears has dropped to 126 and Thomas Potter wrestled over the weekend @ 165. Central Wise looks like a top tier team in the 2 a division and Poquosan won it at Hampton in the Black in Blue division, they are solid from 106 to 150.

Will central be able to put up enough points to overtake Poquoson for 2nd?

Region D looks to have several weight classes that a state Placer will be left at home because only top 3 instead of top 4 for a true 16 man bracket. Thanks again vhsl

Personally i think Poquosan is the favorite at 2nd, but it all depends on the brackets and matchups and how much can qualify to states. Region D looks pretty tough!

Anything notable from Ed Cressel this weekend? Central (Wise) looked good finishing 3rd only 1 point out of 2nd behind 4A and 5A schools. Owsley at 120 will push the top guys. Davis at 175 on a good day can be tough. Luke Josey (215) looked good too. Spears (126) will be a terror, he is big and strong. Potter’s first tournament, I think anyway, and he looked good but definitely needs to get used to large knee brace. There was a stop in his last match to check on the knee. Track has him listed as medical forfeit in finals match hopefully he is healthy. Radford has some tough wrestlers at 157, 165, 175, 190, and 215. If they all wrestle to their ability they will make noise in Salem.

Should Poquoson have been in the Black and Blue Division again this year? I believe Grundy was there last year and they moved up a division this year and did well. Seems like Poquoson was way better than all other teams except Turner Ashby. TA was missing their best kid that could have made a big difference in the outcome.
