What state matchups are you all looking forward to? I am excited to see Martin and Saniti at 26 and Saavedra and Hand at 38. I don’t see anyone beating Nininger at 44. I like the Hicks kid but Sykes at 32 is probably too much for him. Gibson shouldn’t have much competition at 20 either. Is Saavedra going 138 or 144 he wrestled 144 at his last tournament My guess would be 138. Team point wise it makes the most since. I don’t want to steal the statement but someone posted a while back and it made since. At 138 Saavedra should be a lock for the finals and finish ahead of New Kent and Skyline. At 144 Nininger would win and finish ahead of New Kent and Skyline. 150 Hatcher would finish ahead of Skyline and New Kent also. From a team standpoint this makes the most since.

Ok. I'm more knowledgeable about 2A, but 3A needs some rankings and the kids deserve the recogition. Here are 106 to 144. I will work on the rest as soon as possible. There were not many results on Track except for some tournaments. The weather really messed things up this year. I'm hoping that posters will help with head to head results. Some kids have went back and forth between weights. I used the latest weights they wrestled. I used records (where available), strength of schedule and my personal experience at tournaments. Pleas post anyone I missed or any head to head. 106 1 Jacob Buffum Skyline 2 Darin Witcher WB 3 Alex Cuic NK 4 Adriel Pena Charlottesville 5 Justin Savage WC 6 Need some help on #6 113 1 Cooper Brandt Wilson Memorial 2 Hunter Blosser TA 3 Tristan Carter NK 4 Landon Moore MV 5 Gavin Hetrick WC 6 Devin Rice HV 120 1 Kyle Gibson NK 2 Parker Smithers Skyline 3 Landon Starnes LCA 4 Xaiver Ramsey Pulaski County 5 Sam Loveless TA 6 James Dean LB 126 1 Colin Martin SR 2 Evan Saniti Brenstville 3 Justin Porter Heritage 4 Zac Rasnake Abingdon 5 Carlos BIlly WC 6 Zane Taylor WB 132 1 Josiah Sykes Skyline 2 Wayshaun Hicks Northside 3 Adam Ayala NK 4 Payton Stanberry Brookville 5 Ryan Maxwell Rockbridge 6 Cameron Noell Cave Spring 138 1 Brady Hand Christiansburg 2 Caiden Saavedra SR 3 Noah Cuic NK 4 Matt Garland Heritage 5 Ben Armentrout HV 6 Gage Cochran WB 7 Ryan Hudson Rockbridge 8 Connor Hogbin Brentsville 144 1 Noah Nininger SR 2 Noah Bentley NK 3 Michael Maxfield Abingdon 4 Davis Henritze Cave Spring 5 Cody Salomon Skyline 6 Blake McCarty WC 7 Evan Mefford Christiansburg Charlottesville is not 3A

Also no way Gage has that many matches since the limit is 50! I agree that Gage has beat Ben so he just be one ahead of him but Gage has also been wrestling 144!

I think they cut Nininger down to 138 to beat Hand and Salomon and put Martin at 32 to beat Sykes and Ayala, thus giving Saavedra a chance to win 144 where he would not at 138. It also opens the door for their 132, who is now 126, to make the finals where he likely would not have at 132. The region D seeding meeting will be a doozy.

Not sure but don’t they have to certify at the weight class before the postseason Nininger hasn’t made 138 yet!

This was just a copy and paste of the names I was able to find on track. Too difficult to break them each down by season. For the season Cockran is 29-5.

Not necessarily. At Powerade he wrestled 139+3=142.

You better check the weigh in sheets online that show that he didn't make scratch weight. It was scratch plus 2.

The criteria is the best I could do based on Track Results, head to head, strength of schedule and gut. I need everyone to help with head to head because there isn't that much on Track to go by.

I can't put Saavedra at 144 if Nininger is there. We will find out for sure on the 10th.

Ok here are updated 3A rankings for 150 thru 285. I hope I have at least got most of the correct kids on the list. Please provide feedback. I have built a spreadsheet now so updates can be made going forward. I apologize if I missed anyone. My intent was this is a starting point. With regionals coming soon we should be able to get the rankings more accurate with those results.

Not sure how you justify putting Angel and Gray above Hatcher and Tyler? I honestly don’t think those matches would be close.
