We had a team just pull out from the VISSA State Duals this morning. So we are looking for one more team to compete on January 21st 2023.
Each team gets 5 matches.

Poorly run event. JV style jamboree at best. C'mon guys these kids deserve better! What do you expect from a FMS event where they hung a banner last time during state duals calling themselves division 2 state champions. Last I checked we only have one state champion team in the VIS annually. SMH

How can an event be good if they can’t even get the name of the league correct? It’s the VISAA Duals, not VISSA. SMH

If we want to make the VISAA wrestling experience truly better for all of our kids, we could start with building each other up. Unkind remarks on an online board never made anything better. Constructive criticism, provided directly to the coach or ref or wrestler there is an has an issue with would serve us all better. There are lots of talented coaches and great kids on all the teams in the VISAA division. And, I haven’t met one yet who wasn’t open to suggestions for making things the best they can be for the kids who are working hard on the mat.

thatistwo you are correct. Complaining on this site doesn't accomplish anything. A suggestion for this is event is to have teams or exhibitions always competing on open mats. At this event, there were three mats and I believe there were 11-13 teams total. At times only one match was going on. We experienced this at several other events this year. I get glitches with internet, flo & track, but once an event starts there should be no idle mats. Of course, unless these mats are dedicated to warm ups only. At an event like this with teams that have several holes in their roster, one mat could be dedicated to exhibitions. Coaches could send rosters in advance and the match ups could be decided beforehand. Just my two cents...I promise to be more productive and positive on this forum.

Here is the thing, When you have a team pull out a week before the event, one not show up and another whose coach is fed up with his own team so leaves early, what do you do?
As the director I take full responsibility, but again I asked what do you do? I had all pools set up with the help of another coach whose team also participated.
I guess I could have done a better job making sure coaches stuck with the rounds and got their extra matches in at the end. I tried to be fair and pull this off without much help to give the kids a chance to hit schools they may not be able to during the season.
Again I take full responsibility, one other note, if you check the awards it says VISAA. The one message was a typo.
I'm not going to get into putting others down, no good comes from it, but it does show ignorance.
Thank you Thatistwo, my thoughts exactly.
Good luck to everyone the rest of the way.
