8th graders can compete if they attend a middle school associated with the high school, to my knowledge. I didn’t think Benedictine had any middle school? Their website says 9-12.

#8/132 Ronan Montes (Freshman/FUMA) is highly underrated in the 132 Division. He gave #2/138 Caleb Haney (Junior/STC) a run for his money at Prep League yesterday and he utterly dominated #7/132 Malachi Huffman (Junior/WFS). Huffman could not stall at Prep League like he did against Montes at the WFS TRI early this season; no way I would rank him higher than the Freshman. The VISSA State Meet is going to be very interesting this year without a doubt.

#5 Aito Omura is a hammer at 132. Granted he has not seen most of the top guys, but he has pinned every opponent, including Huffman, in the first or second period and the only points scored on him are points he gave the opponent. I am not suggesting he is the top dog in this weight class, but I am fairly certain he is in the top 3.

Issac Slater at 120 has wrestled as high as 132 this year.. Do we know if he's going to be staying at 120 for state?
