Any school changes for kids joining in the middle of the year. Heard rumors about more kids joining PVI. Sanderson and new addition Merrit Clinton to the team.

Caleb Gibson from Rural Retreat at 106 beat Wynn (2-0) and O’Keefe 7-1 Yeah I don't think wyn is a top 10 or even 15 wrestler for me personally.

Wynn? Just curious, why not? He beat 3a runner up several times. Was hurt, and won the title last year, he is also a junior 106, and will finally be up to 106.

Zaiden Wynn is one of the hardest working kids there is in the whole state. He deserves to be in the top 10.

Wynn is a stud I would like too see him face tougher competition throughout his season.

A few observations ... Brady Barnes looks huge right now during football season and could be moving to 165 with Macon moving to 175. Ethan Flowers #2 at 175 is spot on...would love to see him and Macon somewhere down the road. TJ Piluso I believe could very well stay at 165 again this year. Saw him at senior night and he looked very lean. Caiden Saavedra at Staunton River I believe will take a huge step forward this year after some bad calls cost him at states...that kid is exciting to watch. No disrespect to the ranking but Chase Miller may very well be the best 190 in the state. He had a tough weekend at Supers but he looks very good. A kid to keep your eye on is Armbrust from LCA. He has been on a tear ever since losing VAWA states to Rigney in 2021, I look for him like Saavedra to take big steps forward this year. Angel Rigney tore his meniscus at the beginning of last season and missed the first two months pushing him into the 165 class. Based on Facebook posts of him competing in recent jiu-jitsu tournaments I think he wrestles at 150 this year not 175 and will be huge for that class.

I agree a lot of weight changes this year. Barns Stanton River does look big but wrestling practice will drop a few pounds. Armbrust from LCA is huge He’s l175/190. Miller is a tough 190 pounder, but I think jobber Spence is going to be a force at 190 for Stanton River. 3 A will be tough as ever this year.

Armbrust VS Miller Vs Jobber Spence would be awesome too.

Agreed, Robie vs Barns. I like the Divello kid at 165. He’s been wrestling tough, Ayers, Kelly or Spence vs Armbrust, I think they all have wrestled through VAWA’s together. Brady Hand against Noah or Martin would be exciting to watch. Excited for the season. Thanks coach for starting the rankings. Great year for all divisions in Virginia. A lot of great young studs coming up as well.

I also think the only competition for Martin will be Sanati and I believe Martin will win again but Sanati is a stud. I think you will see Armbrust at 190 and I belive Spence is going to be the best 190 in the state if that's his weight.

I agree with Noah being the best. Just would like to see them wrestle. Martin another title is coming as well. Just a fan of great matches. Wish they seeded the state tournament so best matches would be in the finals. That an old topic. I just love the rise in all division for Virginia talent. This shows how much our Virginia coaches have been doing to prepare these young men and women. Proud of them. Excited for the start of the season. Good luck to everyone.

A lot of great young studs coming up as well. If Barns makes the weight I think you have to give the edge to him. Nothing against Robie but that Staunton River wrestling room is just stacked with studs and iron sharpens iron. It is hard to imagine anyone beating Noah unless he just coasts this season after committing to Tech...the same goes for Macon at 65 or 75. I cant get over the Armbrust size talk...that kid was just 145 at VAWA states in 2022 and 150 last year as a freshman. Miller if I remember right had spence in some trouble at an off season tournament, it will be fun to watch for sure. If Macon goes to 175 and Piluso stays at 165 does that make him the best there. His only losses last year were twice to Macon and once to Rigney....no shame in either of those. If Rigney goes to 150 where does that put him? Is there any chance that Josiah Sykes challenges Brady Hand ? Josiah just won Super 32 in Sept. 3a is going to be very exciting this year for sure.

Agreed, SR has a ton of hammers. It’s will be interesting. All depends where everyone falls into weight. Barns and Robie will be good match. Robie looks big as well. SR will be loaded no doubt and win another title. The Armbrust kid was 157 only loss was to barns who he beat early in the year. I’m hearing he is a tank from Roanoke guys. Miller is he at glenvar or at SR Christian school ? He’s 2a. Would like to see him wrestle against some of the Stanton River kids. No matter what we all think it will be interesting. It will be up to the wrestlers in the end to compete. So much talent in VA now. It won’t be long till the season.

Isn’t Cadell Lee still wrestling? Of he’s not on this list, I don’t buy this list at all. Plus, there are not that many 4A wrestlers in here. Especially state champs and runners-ups. Just curious
