Tallwood High School is again planning to host our annual King of Beasts Invitational Tournament Saturday Dec 18th, this is obviously pending what we are allowed to do but we have been told we may begin planning our season.
If you are not the head coach and are interested in competing please pass along this information to the new coaches and/or AD’s at your schools.
The plan is again to host a 1 day 12 man bracket to be wrestled out to top 4 places, TrackWrestling event will be used to run the event.
Each year we have had a great mix of teams from across the state with a couple of smaller schools mixed in.
We plan to turn and burn, having 4 mats running for most of the event, with the intention of getting ahead and staying ahead. We have been finished wrestling the finals nearly 2 hours ahead of the initial projected schedule listed in the attached information packet.
There also will be a Super Bowl Food style hospitality room going throughout the day for coaches.
Teams from out of area can receive a good discount at the Hyatt Place Virginia Beach at Town Center, about 7 miles away. Out of area teams in the past have been able to get in a workout Friday evening once the gym is set up if needed as well.
We have also done our best to get in a number of non point scorers into the event as well.
If your team is interested please send an email requesting info to Eddie Whiteman at Edward.whiteman@vbschools.com
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at 7577487609, text messaging is faster but if you have more detailed questions please feel free to call.
Below is the tournament information packet with basic information, tentative schedule, and the entry form.
